ABOUT

Under the name CALLmeKAT Danish native Katrine Ottosen creates alt-pop with playful ease and a curiosity for the darker corners of the pop music spectrum. Known for her psychedelic approach and captivating live performances, her refreshing take on contemporary pop combines a woody earthiness and a soaring curiosity that leaves a lasting impression.

CALLmeKAT’s latest EP ‘Mouth Of Time’ (2016) is produced by longtime accomplice Joe Magistro (Prophet Omega), recorded in a home studio deep in the Catskill Mountains of New York State with just the two of them recording all instruments: A collection of songs tapping into themes of mortality and love driven by Magistro’s thumping drum beats, sliding guitars, Ottosen’s vintage keyboards and a voice known for setting CALLmeKAT apart from the masses.

“Outstanding voice, delicate music…Just mesmerizing” - NPR/All Songs Considered

“Sounds as if it’s borrowed from a Yes, Pink Floyd or early Genesis album. The stumping blues and happier spirit on ‘Rolling’ sounds like a Black Keys record made by the hedonistic Swede Miss Li, whilst also potentially attracting a new whisky-drenched audience.” - We Plug Good Music

“Winning lo-fi pop. Downright bluesy” - Interview Magazine

“A Danish art-pop gal we swear you’ll have a hard time shaking.” - Baeble

“Channeling Joni Mitchell + Francoise Hardy, CallmeKat releases her new single “Hidden Waters”. Amidst the layers of psychedelic alt-pop is a lush soundscape that has just enough nostalgia for an irresistible aural experience.” - Georgie Magazine

“This Copenhagen musician manages to stand out from the pop star pack.” - Nylon Magazine

“A future-retro feel, with 60s-handclap pop brushing up against contemporary electronic touches” - Bullett Magazine

“Alternative fuzz pop with a love for good old-fashioned Casio keyboards and gentle melodies are their weapon to get rid of any bad mood or other obstacles.” - Nothing But Hope And Passion

“Her winsome song stylings have all the cool Euro Melancholia of a Carla Bruni, yes with sort the raw, soul-bearing that might recall Joni Mitchell” - Blackbook Magazine

“With Ottosen’s excellent vocals in the center we get enticing and playful melodies wrapped in a parts backward and very forward-looking sound” - Gaffa
